About Victoria Islamic Cultural & Education Centre
Vision & Mission:

Our Vision is to provide a holistic range of religious and social services for the local community. All of our initiatives and activities are based upon the principles and values of the Islamic faith. The Centre aspires to help shape the future of the wider Muslim community whilst also promoting community cohesion. The centre has become more than just a place of worship; rather it is a hub of religious and social activities, and attracts an increasing number of visitors everyday, from all ages and backgrounds. We continue to gain increasing recognition in wider society and demand for more facilities is on the rise as a result. Our mission is to Serve, Educate and Inspire.

Our aims are to:

Focus on the needs of the diverse Muslim community whilst ensuring services are open to all. Meet the needs of the local community by promoting health, education and employment opportunities. Provide Muslims and non-Muslims with the opportunity to learn and understand Islam, through dialogue, discussion and social interaction. Contribute to the social, cultural, spiritual and economic enhancement of the whole community, through policy and strategy development and service.

Promoting Tolerance and Understanding:

VICEC works actively to promote tolerance and understanding. We enjoy excellent interfaith relations - and the strength of these relationships has stood us all in good stead during the difficulties of recent years. The centres door is always open, inviting people to visit and gain a better understanding about Islam and Muslims.

Youth and Women: Encouraging Participation:

VICEC offers a range of services that enable young people and women to engage in a positive and safe environment. With increasing numbers of youth actively engaging in programmes of learning and recreation, dealing with issues of anti-social behaviour, drugs, extremism and gang culture.

Facilities are provided to allow women to access relevant services in a culturally sensitive environment, including counselling services, special events, social support, training and fitness. The ethos of VICEC is to provide choice and to empower sections of our community who may feel isolated from mainstream services.
